Angels in Diapers
Have you ever wondered what Angels look like? Well if you, like me, were a child of the late 80's and early 90's you know exactly what Angels look like, a ken doll with wings, or more preferably little cuddly babies with diapers made from clouds and little, very un-proportionate wings. Why is it then that whenever an Angel appears to someone in the Bible the first thing out of their mouth is 'do not be afraid'?? Who is afraid of a little flying baby in a cloud diaper? My guess is that we have been lied to by those Precious Moments people. Angels are apparently not cute and cuddly but imposing enough that the first reaction people have when they see them is to freak out.
I would love to see Angel, well maybe love is a strong word here. I'd like to see an Angel because I'm curious. I want to know what they look like, I want to see what God created. But at the same time I don't want to see one because peeing your pants at the age of 24 is apparently not socially acceptable anymore...so sad.
I'm not really sure what the point of this post is, sorry for that by the way, but I was just struck by the fact that there is so much about God's creation that we don't know about and/or can't see. What we don't know far surpasses that which we do know. But if we do know God then not knowing a lot isn't such a burden anymore, and that is awesome.
