the full and complete love of Jesus

“I fear thou dost not love me, that thou hast forsaken me, because I know I deserve not to be beloved. These thoughts are hard as hell, they give no rest to my soul.”

Almost 400 years later and Owen’s understanding of the lies we tell ourselves is still spot on. Indeed “the soul will never be satisfied with mere “thoughts of Christ’s love for it,” but must experience and know this love which is “inconceivable, and cannot be increased” because it is full and complete.”

FULL and COMPLETE.

Never to be abandoned or forsaken, but in every way forgiven, redeemed, loved, and adopted as co-heirs with Jesus by grace and grace alone. What a marvelous truth, what joyous encouragement, what hope we have!
