What Are We Doing?

Just a quick thought for today. I'm more and more convinced that most of us, if not all of us, really don't know what we're doing.

In general, I think that it's safe to say most of us want to belong, want a purpose, and want to make or contribute something meaningful to the world. But i don't know if most of us know why we feel that way and how we are supposed to do it.

We have the example of those that went before us, our own ideas of what life is supposed to be, and guidance from our religion of choice. From there we give it our best shot.

I haven't decided if I find this compelling or frightening. Perhaps it is both.
